Use Bathroom and Kitchen Exhaust Fans Sparingly

Category: Household,Save Electricity,Save Fuel,Take Actions,Tips – Tom Harrison – 11:02 pm

If you are heating your house, turning on the exhaust fans is blowing hot air outside (and a dryer is blowing extra heated air out!) These appliances are necessary, or at the least desirable.

But you don’t need to use the fan when you’re taking a shower — you might have to wipe the mirror, but the moisture is needed in the house in cold weather, not to mention the heat. Also consider replacing your switch with a timer so you can set it to run for only a short time. I still occasionally leave our range exhaust fan running by mistake, so when you’re done, don’t forget.
